It might not be too difficult for you to figure out something like get_links, but it's a little more challenging for the non-coders amongst us.

That's not a documentation issue, it's an architectural one. There are always going to be places where the use of raw PHP for template tags intimidates non-coders, but that's our problem rather than yours.

Yes, but I guess with the template tag descriptions at the wiki, things are not too difficult to figure out. If that is not so, then it should be improved.

did it really take you longer to figure out WordPress’s template tags, than it did to figure out how MT’s tags work?

Yes. After encounters with some of the more arcane multi-parametered template functions in Wordpress, MT tags were a breeze. Of course, MT then complicate things by giving you a dozen templates to edit, so what you gain on one side you lose on the other.

Hey, thanks for the shout out.

10 minutes for download, install and archive import might have been a little bit of hyperbole. I think in reality it took me 13 minutes. ;-)

The thing that concerned me most, being an MT user for the past year plus, was losing my archives by switching to a different "personal publishing platform." That process went far better than I expected and when I can nudge the style sheet and template into looking like I want I intend to leave MT behind for good.
