Having a private post function is good. Especially for people like me who keep a blog like a diary, and there are just some things u wanna keep, but not show anybody.

I use to hate just putting entries as draft, cause it clutters the admin screen. Now with private, the bad thing is... there's no quick way to access all my private post! and i'll have to swim through tons of stuff to find them.

Wished there was sth that would make the private post viewable by author only. THat would satisfy me. haha.

ANd regarding that password thing. (yes i use it. for my 'private' entries) using latest beta, mine displays the entries. but not the comments. So i can read the entries, but it still asks me for the password to view comments. (and no place to enter password)

a.
I have noticed a bug report regarding this problem, and I am sure it will be fixed in due time. I am currently busy and so can't tend to it rightaway, but if I have a free day, I will look into it.

Do you know of a way to make the password protect feature work with 1.5 (the entry is protected, but upon entering the password the entry is still not visible? I've posted at wp support, but no help so far. Any help is appreciated. (please accept my apologies if I shouldn't have posed the question here.)

I post private entries to my weblog all the time. I just re-imported a whole bunch of old entries and there are some, quite frankly, I don't want anyone to read but me, and I also do not want to delete them completely from my site. So I'm all about the private entry and it drove me nuts that I couldn't see them!

People use private posts in livejournals and weblogs for everything under the sun; I know my roommate posts private entries containing chapters for her Nanowrimo novels as a way to back it up.

All in all, I'll have to play with this code to see if it works in 1.5 because I'll be pretty happy.

What I don't understand is why people post privately to their own blogs. If it's private, and identifiable to you, why are you putting it on the internet at all ?

And if it's because you want to share it with a few people regularly, that's even odder.

Create an anonymous blog.

No worries then about posts showing or not, passwords going astray....
