It just appears not to be complete yet, so of course adding to it could certainly be helpful, but no reason to reinvent the wheel.</description>

That might be fruitful. Adding entries to http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins might be better, in fact. There are a couple of places that might turn out to be comprehensive repositories/plugin directories, and I hope they do a good job of it.</description>
