reBlog – An Interesting Idea

The team that brought us the interesting ForwardTrack tool, as seen at Tom’s Petition now brings us reBlog

reBlog is a tool that can be useful to a blog like this one right here, which consists of entries that talk about entries on other blogs a lot of the time. It helps you check the feeds of several blogs and publish some of the entries you find interesting in your own blog. It uses the excellent Feed on Feeds, albeit adapted, to display the latest feeds from your favourite sites, and then you have the option of publishing some of those feeds on your blog.

Movable Type and Bloxsom are supported right now, so you cannot publish to a WordPress blog using reBlog just yet, but I imagine it should be a simple affair to publish to a WordPress blog. After all, reBlog uses PHP, and the content is in XML. Let’s see how long we have to wait before we have a reBlog plugin!

Wise Advice – Switch to WordPress

… and don’t forget to

quote your attributes and close your tags.

WordPress 1.3 is almost here, and read what Matt has to say in NuclearMoose’s interview. The interview is done in the inimitable NuclearMoose style, and if you have been hanging out at #wordpress, then you would know exactly what I am talking about.

There’s a bunch of goodies in store in v1.3, not many of which are disclosed in the interview, which talks about more important things like Natalie Portman, Spiderman and Candy, but I’m sure we’ll all see a faster, better WordPress, as always. Isn’t it incredible that every consecutive version of WordPress is more efficient, and faster than the previous one?

P.S. There are at least two hundred new items in my feedreader, so you may see a lot of news in the near future, staggered over time, thanks to WordPress’ in-built “post-to-the-future” feature. It’s good to be back :)
