I was never in doubt, and never thought i was cheated (that's a bad word), but the only restriction it imposes is that to change the color, I have to change the bg image. A different specification would lead to a different solution. But this is what the gurus are doing for this situation. The solution of Dan Cederholm's is documented at alistapart.
